Why we do what we do.

Goals

We’re not fans of injustice. We see the healthcare system as an unjust and broken system that is ruled by money. Too many people suffer because the current healthcare model focuses on profits over people. We decided to be the change we wanted to see and do something about it.

History

My Adventuredom LLC was created in early 2020 as a play rug company. Just two days after we received our business license in the mail, COVID-19 began to take lives in Washington State not far from us. We paused the business, and by the time the lockdown was over, we had expanded our scope to the model it is today.

School

Education is important to our family. Sen and Serenity are working their way through degrees on their way toward applying for medical school. Jeremy is almost finished with his current degree plan.

Sen

Hello, I’m Sen!

I am the My Adventuredom LLC CEO and resident horse enthusiast. Please visit my website at senmichaelson.com to follow my journey toward opening an equine-assisted therapy clinic!

My interest in nutrition and medicine started because of my mom's struggle with health. Getting such a close look at her struggle with doctors, insurance, and the lack of care from healthcare professionals took a great toll on me when I was a child. I needed to start helping take care of my mother when I was just six years old. I definitely don't regret the opportunity to help my mom, and I would say I've gotten a lot from the experience, but my life could have been very different if she had been well instead of being stuck sick in bed.

As I began to have health struggles of my own in my late teens and early 20s, I've gotten to experience first-hand the challenges of the medical system.

My primary degree is in education, with my transition to health degrees scheduled to take place in late 2023.

Serenity

Hello! I’m Serenity ♥

I’m the My Adventuredom LLC CFO and a nutrition enthusiast.

After becoming incredibly ill in 2006, I experienced repeated gaslighting and a lack of support from the many healthcare institutions in the greater Seattle area.

All told, I saw dozens of primary care and specialist doctors. I also visited multiple emergency rooms and underwent an untold number of tests.

Nothing came of any of it.

I learned later that somewhere near the beginning of my illness, a nurse had put in my chart that she believed I was faking my illness, and the specialists I was seeing weren’t taking my illness seriously.

Finally, my condition worsened to the point that I became bedbound.

Once I became bedbound, I began to research for myself how to improve my health. The only options available to me to work with were nutrition, herbs, and supplements, as I had no access to pharmaceuticals. Over the years, I became well-versed in nutrition, gut health, genetics, and how the body systems work.

In December 2020, after having yet another doctor gaslight me and ignore what I was saying to them, I called their administrator to protest my treatment and I asked for a Lupus blood test. I had been requesting a test for Lupus since my illness in 2006 had begun. This time, the administrator listened. The test finally went ahead.

On December 17, 2020, my Lupus blood test results came back positive and I was diagnosed with Neonatal Lupus and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. My disease presents primarily with Lupus flares and Polymyositis.

Being bedbound, I’ve been unable to find any Rheumatology specialists to work with me, so this disease is still being treated through nutrition and the supplements that I now make for myself.

I don’t want anyone to ever have to go through what I have had to, and I’ll fight for the rest of my life to help as many people be well as I can.

I’m currently working toward my master’s and doctorate in nutrition, followed by my medical doctorate where I plan to focus on diagnostic medicine.

Jeremy

Hello, I’m Jeremy!

I’m the My Adventuredom LLC CTO.

What I like about My Adventuredom is that it will help people that truly need it. And in several aspects, too - not just medical health, but also by not causing them another financial burden on top of any loss of income or employment they may already be dealing with from being ill.

When my wife got sick, we had very good health insurance, a good credit score, and savings in the bank. It still wasn’t enough to keep us from near bankruptcy and a tanked credit score due to the medical debt brought on by just one prolonged hospital stay at the very beginning of her illness.

We can’t open our own hospital just yet, but we’re working our way toward opening these clinics, and I feel blessed to be a part of this endeavor.

These past few years have been incredibly hard.

My family has been through a lot, and keeping other families from going through what we have motivates us every day to keep moving forward.
